Antara believes inclusion of diverse voices is crucial for effective policymaking, especially, for technology policy where several foundational questions still remain unanswered. In her previous role as a junior fellow at Observer Research Foundation (ORF), Antara produced knowledge outputs on the governance of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), predictive policing algorithms, and drones. Prior to joining ORF, Antara was a research analyst at CyberPeace Foundation, where she published policy response papers on national science, technology, and innovation policy, non-personal data governance framework, and blockchain strategy in India. Antara has curated and participated in several roundtable and expert panel discussions on online safety of women, drone adoption, AI governance and data protection.
Through her work with the Emerging Technologies Division at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, Antara aspires to guide public policy and program implementation for India to effectively leverage data and AI for social good. Antara holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, and a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and Humanities from Ambedkar University Delhi.
