To improve teachers’ professional development, teacher training needs an overhaul that sets teachers on a path to become life long learners - matching them with the expectations for their students. Accomplishing this will require adapting a systemic lens to answer the many questions that persist: What would it take to prepare and motivate teachers to ensure that students learn and learn well in school? Are the current institutional support system sufficient in preparing teachers to accommodate to the diversity and student learning levels?

To answer these and related questions, the International Innovation Corps at the University of Chicago hosted a day long conference on March 1, 2019 titled “Reimagining Teacher Training in India.”
