Vikas Upadhyay

Project Associate, UPTSU

Vikas is a Project Associate at IIC working towards strengthening Digital Health Initiatives at the UPTSU-National Health Mission. He believes that the constant equitable distribution of social goods is necessary for the development of the underrepresented population and that this is possible only when there are accommodating policies and a smooth and efficient public service delivery system.

An alumnus of IIT Guwahati, Vikas has previously worked in policy research and implementation of social projects with District and State Governments, Non-Government Organizations and Policy Think Tanks in the domains of labour, livelihood and health in Bihar and Jharkhand. Working with the Government of Jharkhand, he has implemented and managed skill development and livelihood generation programs impacting almost 500 mining-affected families. Vikas has also mobilized district mineral funds in the state to facilitate the improvement of the health ecosystem in the mining-affected areas of Jharkhand.

Vikas now looks forward to harnessing technology and using data to improve policy implementation and amplify the delivery of public services to the last-mile population.
